Dr. Thomas Knackstedt
Board-certified, fellowship-trained dermatologist
Thomas Knackstedt, MD, MPH is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained board-certified Mohs surgeon. He is an adjunct associate professor of dermatology in the Department of Dermatology at the University of North Carolina, School of Medicine and Cleveland’s Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Presbyterian College with a bachelor’s degree in biology and earned his medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina.
After completing an internal medicine internship at the Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Knackstedt completed his dermatology residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, serving as Chief Resident in his final year. He then completed a Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at Dermatology Professionals, Inc., in East Greenwich, RI. Dr. Knackstedt received extensive training with an emphasis on surgical technique, complex facial reconstruction, and nail surgery. He is considered a national expert in nail tumors and skin cancer.
